Belle nuit, o nuit d’amour

Do you know what for me is the greatest antidote to Donald Trump’s daily poisonous words, and less often thank goodness actions? I think of the old childhood refrain, Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can’t hurt me.

Not true of course, words hurt, and more than sticks and stones as the example of Trump and other tyrants make clear.

Anyway the greatest antidote for me to Trump’s poison is music, often the voices of opera singers such as, for example, those dearly loved voices of Anna Netrebko & Elīna Garanča singing the Barcarolle from Offenbach’s Les Contes d’Hoffmann.
