Two kinds of truth

“Bosch knew there were two kinds of truth in this world. The truth that was the unalterable bedrock of one’s life and mission. And the other, malleable truth of politicians, charlatans, corrupt lawyers, and their clients, bent and molded to serve whatever purpose was at hand.”

Text from Michael Connelly’s Two Kinds of Truth

Why don’t the Republicans know that their truths, if whatever it is they think they know, can be called that, that their truths are the truths of “politicians, charlatans, corrupt lawyers, and their clients, bent and molded to serve whatever purpose was at hand.” And at the moment the only purpose at hand now, and for the past four years, is the narcissism of their leader, Donald Trump. But now he’s on the way out! Hooray.
